The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) created the Central Admission Processing System (JAMB CAPS), an online platform, to expedite the admissions procedure for Nigerian universities. It enables potential students to accept or reject offers and view their admission status.

Procedures for Checking and Accepting Admission on JAMB CAPS

Visit the JAMB Portal:Open your browser, Visit the JAMB official website: https://www.jamb.gov.ng.

Log in to JAMB eFacility Portal:At the top of the JAMB website, select the “UTME Candidates” tab.

Next, select the “Check Admission Status” option.

You’ll be taken to a page that asks for your login information.

Enter your password and JAMB registration number to access your profile

Go to the CAPS Portal:Click the “CAPS” option (often located in your dashboard or under the “My Profile” button) after logging in.

You can view your admission status on your CAPS dashboard by doing this.

Check Your Admission Status:Under “Admission Status” on the CAPS page, you should see one of the following choices:“Admission in Progress” indicates that your admissions plan is still in the works.

“Admitted” denotes that you have received an offer of admission.

Accept or Reject the Admission:If admission has been given, you will have two choices:“Accept”: Press this button to agree to the institution’s offer of admission.

To reject the admission, click the “Reject” button.

Note: You cannot take back the admission after you accept it. Before accepting the offer, confirm that the institution is the one you want to attend.

Print your Admission Letter:

After accepting the admission, you can print your admission letter by going back to the JAMB portal and selecting “Print Admission Letter” from your dashboard.

Important Considerations:

Requirements: Verify that you have fulfilled all conditions, including paying acceptance fees and fulfilling any further demands made by the business or institution.

Problems with CAPS: Get help from the institution that gave you admission or contact a local JAMB office if you’re having trouble accessing your admission status or don’t see the option to accept or reject your admission
